Micro-Blog: Preview and Micro-Reviews

OKOK so I want to get at least one post out every month and here's my hurried last-minute entry for May (been dealing with a lot lately, but I have a feeling June is gonna be a big month for me blogging so bear with me here~~)

Firstly a preview of what I'm doing with an adaptation of the Carved from Bridlewood system that I fell in love with due to Public Access - It's heavily inspired by Mononoke and Japanese folk horror:

Next some mini-reviews of what I've been reading lately!

Original Finish Revised is an alt-history where hobby horsing was the focus of roleplaying games. Both as a meta-text and an actual game I find it delightful. Most importantly much like another one of my favorites from Sprinting Owl (Cheese Squad: Stay Sharp) it says the quiet part of GMing out loud.

Kill Jane Doe is a mediation on repetition selfhood and the crippling addiction to Marathon that I too share. It's not a game per-se but it's an incredible (and gorgeous) body of writing that transforms a transformative game into a reflection on transformation.

Brut is a solo game about being down bad for brutalist buildings. More importantly it's a work of art reflecting on how artists reflect on their own work. The ways in which a work's form must conform, even while the artist strives to express.

Go check them out!!
